Dancetime

Established in 1970 as a small family business, Dancetime Hire began with just a single dance floor and a few tables and chairs, all operated from a family garage. Gordon Johnstone, one of the founding members of the Hire and Rental Association, started the business, making deliveries in his FJ and HD Holden.

In 1980, the business outgrew the family home and relocated to a small factory in Caringbah. Three moves later, they now operate from a 2000-square-metre factory, supplying hire and event equipment up and down the eastern states of Australia. Still a family concern, Gordon’s son, Robert, now provides the leadership to continue growing the business. Soon, the third generation will drive the business with new, innovative ideas, servicing the hire industry for decades to come.
