Description
Welcome to Kidman Flower Company, We were looking for change, a new adventure and stumbled across this flower farm over-looking the Onkaparinga Valley near Balhannah in 2001 and.... had to own it!! Such a beautiful part of the world, so peaceful and yet so close to Adelaide! ?We supply the Sydney and Brisbane wholesale flower markets and some local Adelaide florists. And of course we sell to the general public via our shed door sales. We open our farm on a monthly basis during our harvest (April to October) by running our "flower farm experiences". This has taken off, as people are so interested in how things work !! Everyone is becoming so much more appreciative of sustainable primary industry and of course flowers are such a beautiful commodity to spend the afternoon learning about and playing with. Especially with a glass of Adelaide hills bubbles in hand... Things dont really get much better!!! We are are now seeing native flowers in high demand- finally, after often wishing over the years we grew other more "en trend flowers like lillies and roses! We didn't ever have an interest in growing anything else - thankfully we didn't ever give up on native flowers! We love that natives are relatively low maintenance, grown so happily in this part of the world, and are pretty much grown organically/chemical free. The flowers themselves are so structural and interesting that they barely need arranging! Just loosely shoved into a beautiful vase or a preserving jar they still look amazing!! Not only are people seeing their natural beauty, but theyre loving their low environmental impact to grow them as well as their long vase life and exceptional value for money and enjoyment!!! I guess flower growing is not an overly common occupation. After saying that it does not feel like work mostly, which makes us feel particularly lucky!! We love inviting people to our little piece of heaven to see and understand what we do! Hope to see you soon!
