Description
21 Junk Street has had a colourful journey so far, starting in 2015 as a small old wares repurposing shop in a sleepy street in little old yankalilla. TJ and Pete noticed a gap in the market of what was on offer for the locals and visitors alike and decided to open a small coffee shop, sharing the food that they loved to eat, keeping it small but balanced with an option for everyone. After closing the old 'o.k' bakery doors in 2018 of the building in Yankalilla, they tried their hands at a few ventures but kept coming back to what they love - catering, coffee & the locals. TJ grew up in a large family and her passion for creating amazing food came from her beautiful mum Jenny. TJ's favourite thing to do was cook and exchange recipes with her mum. Unfortunately Jenny lost her long battle with Cancer in October 2020. TJ continues to draw inspiration from her mum's old cookbooks and add's her own little twist to make it simply unique. TJ finds her happy place is making deliciouls meals with simple food & honest flavours using as much locally sourced produce as possible. She loves the story and people behind the ingredients used in each dish or grazing table. You'll find her out and about in the beautiful community of Normanville, pourig over old cookbooks or creating in the kitchen!
