Description
The Holroyd Centre has been in operation since 1985. In that time, it has earned a reputation for providing high-level catering and function services to its clients. The foyer provides a visual blend of both contemporary and historical features.
The entry features a massive glass window from street level to the peak of its 12-meter canopy. This leads to the imposing marble and wrought-iron staircase. The plaster reliefs that adorn the foyer walls are steeped in history. These reliefs were commissioned in 1938, commemorating the sesquicentenary celebrations, and actually adorned the outside of the QVB Building in George Street, Sydney.
These reliefs miraculously found their way to the Holroyd Centre some 50 years later, and here they remain, providing a snapshot of the past in the awe-filled foyer of the Holroyd Centre. The Holroyd Centre was modern in 1985 and remains unique and relevant today. It is the ideal venue for wedding receptions, corporate functions, family celebrations, and cultural events.
