Creative Cake Art

Creative Cake Art was founded by Sarah Theaker in 2007, combining her background in illustration with a passion for cake sculpting. Originally from London, Sarah’s journey into cake artistry began while working at a children’s art center, where she was inspired by the creativity and joy of birthday cakes. After relocating to Melbourne with her Australian husband, Chris, she transformed this passion into a thriving business.

Over the years, Sarah has established herself as an award-winning cake designer, crafting hundreds of cakes for weddings, birthdays, corporate events, and special occasions. Her expertise has been recognized at the Royal Melbourne Show, The Cake Bake and Sweet Show, and International Cake Show Australia, where her creations have won multiple awards and reached international finals. She was named Cake Sculptor of the Year (2021) by the Australian Cake Decorators Association and most recently received the Supremo Award: Cake Artist of the Year (2024).

Specializing in illusion cakes and figurative work, Sarah brings objects to life with stunningly realistic cake sculptures. Her talent extends to hand-painted cakes, sculpted busts, and personalized cake figurines and toppers, allowing her to create one-of-a-kind edible works of art. Whether it’s a highly personalized request or a wildly imaginative design, she thrives on the challenge of making each cake unique.
