Matt Black Entertainment

Founded in 2012 by Melbourne-based musician Matt Black, Matt Black Entertainment has grown from a solo acoustic act into a versatile and in-demand music service provider. With a background in music performance and a degree from The University of Melbourne, Matt spent over a decade playing in Melbourne pub bands, corporate groups, duos, and as a session guitarist. Seeking a new challenge, he launched his own entertainment business—starting out with just an acoustic guitar, a loop pedal, and a goal to deliver high-quality live acoustic music at competitive rates.

By 2018, Matt had transitioned to music full-time, leaving behind his day job to fully commit to building the brand. What began as a one-man operation has now evolved into a dynamic collective offering a wide range of entertainment options—from solo performers and acoustic duos to wedding DJs and full eight-piece bands. Matt Black Entertainment continues to be driven by a passion for live music and a dedication to providing tailored entertainment experiences for weddings, private events, and corporate functions.
